Grace Shelter Support: Sack Lunches!

We provide 48 sack lunches to Grace Solutions every month, which we make on the first Sunday. Look at the great art on the lunch sacks, created by artists at a Grace Solutions Art Hangout! Please join us for lunch making and filling lunch sacks.

We make PB&J sandwiches and assemble sack lunches, including snack foods (individually wrapped), drinks, and fruit that the staff at Grace distributes over the next 10 days or so. We write personal notes in English and Spanish to include in the sacks.

When we are done, we gather with our own PB&J sandwiches and enjoy each other’s company as we eat the same meal we just packed in lunches for Grace, an act of solidarity.

The plan: Gather at 12:00 noon PDT Sunday to make PB&J sandwiches and pack sack lunches with everything but the sandwiches and fresh fruit, which will be refrigerated overnight, and write notes. Tuesday, Sept 8, the lunches will be delivered to Phil at the Grace parking lot. We’ve been at this since June 2022, and it has been a meaningful and fun project.
