Brunch Ethics: From Suffrage to Intersectionality: The Evolution of Feminist Philosophy

How has feminism changed the way we think about freedom, equality, power, and identity—and why do its debates remain so urgent today?
Join Curt Collier, professor of philosophy at Fairleigh Dickinson University, for a lively and accessible journey through the evolution of feminist thought.
We will begin with the “first wave” and the struggle for women’s legal and political rights, explore the transformative activism of the 1960s and 1970s, and consider the complex questions confronting feminist thinkers today.

This will be more than a history lesson. At each stage, participants will be invited to examine the arguments, share their perspectives, and discuss how feminism has expanded, challenged, and sometimes divided our understanding of equality.
No background in philosophy is needed—only curiosity and a willingness to join the conversation.
