Upcoming Programs

Dessert and Ethics Discussion
Wednesday, February 17, 7:30 pm
Private Home, Saratoga (request location)

"Do I Confront People about Their Habits or What They Wear?" is the topic from Arthur Dobrin's book "Ethics for Everyone". The vignette concerns a woman wearing perfume which is offensive to some. That's where we will start the discussion, which will take on a life of its own very quickly and likely cover many ethical issues!
We serve soup at 6:30, followed by dessert at 7:15 so arrive when it is convenient. The discussion starts at 7:30.
Please come!

Daytime Ethics Discussion
Friday, February 19, 10:00 am
Los Altos Bakery and Café, 692 Rancho Shopping Center, Los Altos, CA 94024

We plan to use the book "Ethics for Everyone" by Arthur Dobrin, as the catalyst for discussion.
At this first meeting, we'll be organizing ourselves to make the time and place convenient for as many of those who want to attend this discussion group.
We'll also be using Dobrin's ideas about ethics so we have a shared understanding of the topic as we begin.
Each person who attends and plans to attend again will receive a copy of Dobrin's book.
The Los Altos Bakery & Cafe sells drinks, baked goods and deli lunch items. We trust most will purchase an item during the meeting.

A “Clothes” Look at Domestic Violence

We'll use T-shirts created by those who have experienced domestic violence to live an hour in the shirts of ones who have been there. What feelings come up? We'll then reflect and puzzle about what action we can take together to make the world a better, less violent place, especially domestically.

Platform Sunday
Sunday, March 21, 4:00 pm
Meeting House, 1041 Morse Street, San Jose, 95126

The book "Ethics for Everyone" by Arthur Dobrin, an Ethical Culture Leader on Long Island, is the basis for a monthly discussion group and this Platform. Led by participants in the discussion group, this interactive Platform will explore some of the ethical issues we face in our daily lives. How do we think about ethics and how do we act when faced with these issues?
Join us after the Platform for soup and bread (a tradition of the Wednesday Ethics Discussion).
